Chapter 5 “Characters” – Section 2 “Protagonists”
“Plot is people. Human emotions and desires founded on the realities of life, working at cross purposes, getting hotter and fiercer as they strike against each other until finally there’s an explosion—that’s Plot.”
Apart from Primary and Secondary Protagonists, there are many other different protagonist characters-types that can drive a story—ranging from heroes, to villains, to antiheroes, to just normal people. Today, I'm going to discuss what universal attributes make a great protagonist that will drive your story forward, as well as how to define and craft this character in a way that gives them a great level of depth and autonomy from the writer. “A fight is going on inside me,” said the grandfather to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

I find it interesting, how ice/water is always stronger than fire, yet the fire wolf seems so much more dangerous and fierce. Calmness and goodness are real strengths, anger and destruction will never be able to overcome them. Even if puffed up.
